Why we have to adjust our prices

and why you can still keep smiling.

Dear Guests,

Today we would like to address a topic that is currently being hotly discussed in the hospitality industry: prices.
More specifically: why we have to adjust ours.

But before you start to frown – don’t worry, we’ll explain it to you. And we’ll do it just as we would at the hotel bar: honestly, warmly, and with a touch of humor.

Cost explosion – what does that actually mean?

You may have already read about it in the media: our industry is facing one of the biggest transformations in decades. Costs are rising across the board – and not just a little, but in leaps of 12–14% per year.

  • Minimum wage & skilled staff: We employ only qualified professionals, pay according to collective agreements, and with 75 team members we make sure you feel completely at ease with us. That is important to us – but it also means that our personnel cost ratio has now risen to over 55%.
  • Fresh quality: Our kitchen works without convenience products; we cook everything fresh. You can taste the difference – and yes, it does cost more.
  • New laws & regulations: Outdated pool technology banned? New system installed. Elevator upgraded? Check. Accident insurance association and the like? Of course, also included.
  • Energy & inflation: We heat, light, filter, and cook – energy for us is not a “nice to have” but an absolute necessity. Unfortunately, the costs have skyrocketed.

Service à la carte – fair for everyone

To ensure that you continue to receive exactly what you want, we are taking a new approach with some of our individual services:

  • Fancy an omelette in the morning? Absolutely – freshly prepared, but no longer in “all-inclusive” mode, instead for a small extra charge.
  • Would you like to arrive especially early, or sleep in and check out later? We’ll make it possible, subject to availability – but likewise for a fee.

This way, we ensure that only those guests who actually use these extras pay for them – and not everyone else silently contributes.

But why don’t we simply pass it on to you 1:1?

Because we know that you, too, are feeling the effects of rising prices. We want the Bösehof to remain a place that people both want to and can afford to visit. That’s why we try to strike a balance: cushioning costs without diminishing the joy of your stay.

As one industry colleague put it so well: We stand at the very end of the value chain. We cannot pass costs “further down,” but must negotiate them fairly with our guests. A balancing act that we master every single day.

And still: We love this industry!

Yes, sometimes it feels as if we’re juggling – with balls, clubs, and flaming torches all at once. But we do it gladly. Because despite all the challenges, hospitality is one of the warmest, most vibrant, and most rewarding fields to work in.

And we firmly believe: change also means opportunity. Opportunity for more sustainability, for digital processes, and for even better experiences that you will be able to enjoy with us.

Our promise to you

We are adjusting our prices – but always with the clear focus on providing you with the quality, service, and warmth you know from the Bösehof.

And when we serve you a freshly prepared dinner, keep the sauna warm, and the pool sparkling clean, you will know: every euro goes directly into what matters most – your relaxation, your experience, your unforgettable moments.

In short: our prices may rise – but our hospitality remains unchanged.

Warm regards,
Natascha Grotjohann
