Lovingly Created: Our Trainee’s Morning Post
My Creative Morning Routine
Hello everyone!
I’m Meira, a second-year trainee hotel management assistant – and today I’d like to give you a little insight into one of my favorite tasks: creating our daily “Morning Post” for our guests.
What is that?
It’s simple: a small, lovingly designed information sheet that is placed on the breakfast tables every morning. It informs our guests about the current weather, the tides (yes, that’s really important here on the coast!), exciting local events, recommended museums, in-house activities – and not to forget: a nice quote of the day to make them smile or think.
Why do I enjoy it so much?
Because I have a lot of freedom in creating it – from choosing the content to the graphic design. For me, it’s the perfect counterbalance to the rather structured hotel routine. Here I can be creative, research, design – and even work a little with our marketing tool, which I hadn’t expected to do at the start of my training.
Whether I’m writing about a new art event, presenting the weather in a charming way, or picking a suitable quote – I love experimenting and trying things out. And the best part: I can see the results of my work directly on the breakfast tables the next morning.
I especially enjoy that guests really read our “Morning Post” – and sometimes even talk to me about it. Whether it’s a smile at the quote of the day or a thank-you for an event tip: the feedback is always positive and motivates me every time.
It shows me that my work is noticed – and that even as trainees, we can already contribute a lot to the welcoming atmosphere in the hotel.
For me, the “Morning Post” is much more than just an information sheet – it’s a piece of personality that we give our guests to start their day. And it’s a creative space where I can really contribute.
I’m curious to see what ideas will come to me tomorrow morning.
See you soon and warm greetings from hotel life,
Your Meira
Why projects like this are important to us
Projects like the “Morning Post” show that training with us is about more than just theory and practice. We intentionally give our trainees the space to contribute their own ideas and take responsibility. This helps build confidence, creativity, and teamwork – qualities that will support them not only in hotel life but also in their future careers.
We are proud of our trainee team – you’re doing an amazing job!
