Dear Guests, a Word About the Attire at Our Reception

When you check in with us, you might notice that our reception looks different today than it did a few years ago.

In the past, it was strictly regulated: white shirt or blouse, black skirt or pants, vest or blazer. Stylish, of course — but also quite uniform.

Since 2024, I have been the managing director here — and I care not only about your well-being but also about that of our team. Because I am convinced: those who feel comfortable work better — and treat you with more friendliness, calmness, and authenticity.

Especially at the reception, we now have quite a number of young trainees. This is a result of the new training regulations in the hospitality industry, which have shifted many tasks forward. And what can I say? The majority of our receptionists today are under 25.

That quickly raised the question: Do we really all have to look like we did 30 years ago? Does everyone have to wear the same thing — even if it doesn’t fit, is uncomfortable, or simply doesn’t feel like them?

Modern leadership means trust for me. Letting people decide for themselves what they need to enjoy coming to work. So we asked them. And they clearly chose: hoodies, shirts, and white sneakers.

Yes, it’s different. Yes, it’s more casual. But you know what? It’s authentic. Our staff are the first hosts you see here. I want them to be themselves — not forced into a corset every morning.

By the way: You can also buy the hoodies and shirts from us. Who knows — maybe they’ll look great on you too? 😉

P.S.: Did you know that Generation Z has almost quietly done away with the iron? These days, hardly anyone irons anymore! Crazy times, right? But sometimes we just have to adapt to the new needs of the younger generation — or at least embrace it with a wink.

We’re certainly looking forward to welcoming you — whether in a hoodie or a blazer — at our place.

Warm regards,
Natascha Grotjohann
